Hi,

I currently have about 20 DataPerfect databases. All are in my native
language Portuguese, which also uses plenty of accents: acute, grave,
circumflex, tilde and cedilla :-(

However, differently from Tony, I do not remember ever losing or
damaging records by exporting/importing them. Usually I do this by
the "Export data files to log" option (Shift-F9, A), but I have also
done it many times through Built-in Short Reports.

The only export/import problem I recollect (unrelated to Tony's) is
with CSV files generated by software other than DataPerfect, or
edited before importing. If for some reason the last line of a CSV
file does not end in a CR-LF like the others, it does not get
imported, and that record is lost. So, before importing, I always
chech the last line with a file viewer that shows clearly the CR-LFs,
such as Highview by Dmitry Simerzin. Of course, if DataPerfect itself
generated the CSV file, this kind of thing will not happen. It took
me a long time to figure out that one, which is why I'm mentioning it
here, somewhat offtopic.

Note that all my computers run on FreeDOS with codepage 850, which
has all the accented letters needed in Portuguese.

Regards,

Marcos
