Hi Laurie, Hi Fabio, I did this in 2009 so it is all pretty much current. The version of Apache is probably a little old, but it is still fine, and you could easily update it. The way I have put it together is so you can easily uninstall it if necessary. It will work quite well, for installations on a local machine, on a local area network, across a WAN, or from the internet.
If you open it up to the public on the internet you would just have to make sure that you open the correct ports on your router (Port 80) and redirect if necessary to the right computer, and probably you should make sure that the PERL and Apache are all up to date to make sure there are no vulnerabilities exposed by these older versions. DP is a small target, however you should check all inputs coming from the internet and treat them as being hostile. They will not likely be hostile, but you should approach it as though they will be. If I can be any help let me know. (Brian Hancock) Thank you, Fabio, for posting this. I didn't know this was available. Brian, when did you put this up? Thank you! It looks like it covers all the necessary items and I can't wait to try it.
