Hi everyone,

I'd like to share my experiences with DOSBox in Win7-64bit system.

I use since many years WP-Office-DOS (shell 3.1) with wp.exe 5.1, nb.exe and
DataPerfect.

Today I use WPX3 and all printing is done from this Windows-program. But data
still comes
from my old Dos-programs.

The screen size of a DOSBox invoked program is ruled by the line

   [sdl]
   windowresolution=1024x766 (or 1280x800 ...)

in the related conf-file. The basic command to start DOSBox is:

  "[dosbox_programm]" -conf "[wpo_config]" -noconsole

My environment is the following:

D:\WPO
D:\WPO\DOSBOX
D:\WPO\OFFICE31

The basic command is:

  "[dosbox_programm]" -conf "[wpo_config]" -noconsole

i.e.

  "D:\WPO\DOSBOX\DOSBOX.EXE" -conf "D:\WPO\DOSBOX\WPO.CONF" -noconsole

The txt-file D:\WPO\DOSBOX\WPO.CONF =
------------------------------------------
[sdl]
windowresolution=1024x766
output=overlay

[render]
scaler=none

[cpu]
core=dynamic
cycles=max
cycleup=10000
cycledown=10000

[autoexec]
mount D "D:\" -t dir
D:
cd \WPO
call WPO.BAT
exit
---------------------------------------

Instead of 'call WPO.BAT' there could propably be directly
D:\WPO\OFFICE31\SHELL /w-50

The WPO.BAT is a relict of former installations
D:\WPO\WPO.BAT =
----------------------------------------

@ECHO OFF
REM start WP-Office (Shell)
IF (%1)==(%0) GOTO RUN
%COMSPEC% /E:1200 /C %0 %0 %1
GOTO ENDE

:RUN
D:
CD \WPO
D:\WPO\OFFICE31\SHELL /w-50
D:
CLS
ECHO.
:ENDE

----------------------------------------------

The BAT-file probably isn't necessary but it works since many years so I leave
it this way.

The -noconsole switch on the basic dosbox-command hides the dosbox-window and
leaves
only WP-Office on screen.

All the best and let us enjoy DataPerfect for many years to go ...

Ludwig
