Good morning gentlemen ,  next month I'll try to start a project called "historical files" where I'll try to collect books, manuals and other materials related to Dataperfect for digitalization so we can have this historical material available for next generations and ,who knows, anything else. In my researches I found the pearl below. Useless to say that is a historical material. The problem can be, an the librarian worries about, copyright. Does anybody knows if manuals and material such this tape are also under copyright from Novell or Corel ? Would have they the entire trademark from wordperfect or just the patents ?

Brgds...

Good afternoon Mr Muller:

Your inquiry has been passed along to me for consideration.  I can appreciate your interest in this item and its significance.  As first step we will need to retrieve it to determine its condition and the viability of digitizing it.  Beyond that, assuming it can be duplicated, given your request is for us to duplicate the entire tape for other than private research and study purposes, you will need to secure copyright permission from, I presume, Corel Corporation.  Have you made any inquiries in that regard?  If you can let me know that would be helpful, and in the meantime I will request the item for review here.

Sincerely, Robin Keirstead

Dear freind , After many research I found out that you probably has the
only copy available in VHS from a Video Training that many considers to be
equivalent of a Rare book. I'm talking about the vhs tape "Are you cut out
for Dataperfect" . Dataperfect is part of the computer history , is no long
sold anymore but still has a fellowship among its user in the internet. The
video author Lew Bastian is the creator of dataperfect and toghether with
his brother found Wordperfect corporation in the end of the 80's. This
video is very rare and unique and we would like to ask what he possibility
to have a copy of it. We intend to make a digital copy and let it available
to our group. Is there any service that we can request to obtain such a
copy ? we intend also to provide a copy to the computer history museum
because we think that Lew deserves such recognition. Thanks in advance,
Fabio.
