vDos is based on the source code of DOSBox (www.dosbox.com).
It has been greatly modified to make it more suitable for office use.
Most notable in that aspect are: scalable screen font, printer support, live
filesystem and file/record locking.
It only runs under the Windows operating systems!
If you intend to use it for gaming: Don't, use DOSBox instead!
vDos was tested in some extend with several DOS applications, most worked fine.
Exceptions were due to:
1. No support in vDos for DOS protected mode.
2 Limited basic support for graphics.
To get started, just run the vDos executable.
End the DPT demonstration program.
Look into the config.txt and autoexec.txt files how to make adjustments to
start your program(s).
Config.txt has only a handful of options.
Autoexec.txt is the equivalent of the DOS autoexec.bat with one additional
command: USE.
It should be fairly easily to adjust these two files to your needs.
Tip:
If you have multiple DOS programs and create directories for each of them, you
don't have to copy all vDos files into there.
Only the config.txt, autoexec.txt and language.ini files are needed there.
Create a shortcut to the location of the vDos executable.
Modify the properties of the shortcut:
Start in: The directory of the three files
Run : Minimized, this will get rid of that little temporary popup window
vDos is provided 'as-is', without any express or implied warranty.

commercial applications. And to alter it and redistribute it freely, subject to

Put all files in ONE folder.
Use your own dp.exe and dp.sys if you like
Control + C will open Windows clipboard with ALL text from the visible DP panel
Control + V will copy ALL text from the Windows clipboard into the field where
the cursor is
To scale the screen F11 en F12
You cannot close DP from the box. Use crtl+alt+delete if you are stuck.
You can minimalize DP.
