I just installed vDOS and set it up for DataPerfect. Thanks to Gerhard for initial choices for autoexec and config. Thanks to Jos for the program!! As Brian said, there is no comparison with VMware for start up time, virtually instant vs a lot slower that booting Win 7. At first glance though, the learning curve appears to be tough - I have to remember to use [ctrl][win] when I want to block and copy or paste text. Life is soooo hard ... :-)

And I get better functionality, so far, than in a VMware WinXP window. The program switching short cut key works from VDOS, where it did not for DP in VMware.

You've made me a happy camper!!

Thanks again.

Maybe it's time to do some comparison by those using some virtual Windows:

                   vDos Virtual Windows
Starup time < 1 sec ...
Memory usage 27 MB ...
Processor load 0% (mostly) ...

vDos is more stable (VMware seems not to be according to Don Codling),
faster, integrates better with the Windows host, better printer handling.
