Hi Rich; I was just in the middle of working with the reports in the STE file in Microsoft Word when your interesting email came through. Thanks so much. I went online to search for it and trying to understand it.
Does this method work for Window 7 or higher? If yes, how do you execute these programs? Malkie > Hi Malkie, > > Several years ago, Brian Hancock posted about his method of documenting DataPerfect databases. He used a modified version of the STE-MGR, and had reports to output a XML-HTML file which could be opened in a browser. It works beautifully. Well, if you go back to the resultant STE-BASE.str that is generated, and open it in DataPerfect, the initial panel (STE-BASE.HDR) shows a link to reports. Going through that link, shows the report panel (STE-BASE.REP). There you will find just about any info on every report in the database. Very easy to create a new report to list report names. > > Rich > > > ________________________________________ > From: [email protected] <[email protected]> on behalf of barmag <[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, December 11, 2014 4:56 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [Dataperf] Printing list of report filenames > > Hi Everyone; > > Would you know if there is a way to print a list of reports either as a text > file or to the > printer or as PDF? > > I tried it with DPORDER but get a message "DPPRINT not loaded".
