Hi Don,
Thanks to you and Geert, I did get this to work perfectly after a little fiddling. I have the field as ::MN. The only hitch is I can’t make it a hidden field. Seems the combination of ::MH or ::M::H is not accepted. But I guess I can live with it. It just extended the life of my DP database. Best regards, Ed. Alvy Ed - no problem, let us know how it goes. It's been a while since I've done that but I remember doing it (after initial posting, not printing) and it worked very solidly. Alvy Ed - within the report you could create a report variable with a value of "1" and then write it to the conditional field when the report is run. Will that work for you? Yes, that seems one way but the one demonstrated years ago was with use of a DP Mouse I believe, and only need to add a character to the top right corner of the panel. Anyway, it doesn’t look like DP Mouse is even available anymore, so never mind that route. As for the conditional formula, I got the gist of it but I’m basically trying to “close” a record after being processed. So for example, a record of a transaction is printed. I then want to ensure that record cannot be altered after printing. Is there a way I can store the value “1” onto the conditional field in the selected record upon printing? Thanks, Ed. Alvy Hi Ed - and all :) if I remember well, an easy way to achieve this is to create a "non-updatable/must-be updated" (::N ::M) field in the panel and give it value "1" with a conditional formula ("if field = 0 then 1 else 0 endif"), calculated on create and edit... Somebody demonstrated this in the DP conference ages ago in Huntington Beach. I believe that the WP SHELL had to be running as well. Not sure if the DP mouse also had to be running. Does anyone know more about this feature?
