Hi Tim,

I send faxes from DPSpool to ActFax. The recipient / sender information is sent
to ActFax bracketed by codes (@F101 Sender Name@). It appears that these codes
are not being sent with the new DPSpool version. Should I enter the codes as
Printer Controls? (@F101)?

OK, there was a little bug that had cropped up in the last version. When a
graphic file other than BMP, GIF, JPG, or RLE was printed (such as your WMF
file), it triggered an internal flag signaling that it wasn't the kind of file
that could have text printed over it. However, that flag didn't get cleared
after printing the graphic, which had the unintended result that any further
graphics in the print job got ignored. A quick tweak and that bug is no more.

While I was tweaking the code, I also fixed an issue where DPSpool's pop-up
menu in the system tray wouldn't go away unless you clicked on one of the items
on the menu. Now it behaves as it should, by going away if you click anywhere
else outside of the menu. That one's bugged me for years but I never bothered
to fix it. Lazy I guess.

One further tweak was the ability to specify =0 in the DPSpool.ini file for
printer default settings for Orientation, PrintQuality, and Duplex. Setting
these items to zero (0) now tells DPSpool to leave those settings unchanged,
using the driver defaults instead of forcing its own settings. So whereas
before you had to specify (for example) either Orientation=P or Orientation=L
and DPSpool would enforce that orientation setting, you can now specify (in the
DPSpool.ini file) Orientation=0 and DPSpool will not try to force any
particular orientation and will instead just leave it set at whatever the
printer driver is configured for. In fact, now if you run DPSpool without a
DPSpool.ini file and let it create a new DPSpool.ini file, it will by default
set Orientation=0, PrintQuality=0, and Duplex=0 in each of the 9 printer
sections.

The version number is now DPSpool 6.3.0.

Hi Robert,

What is the type of each of the graphics are you trying to print? (i.e. bmp,
jpg, gif, wmf, emf, ico, etc.)

Hi Tim,

I am having an issue with the new DPSpool. It seems like only one graphic
image will print per page. If there is a graphic letterhead my graphic
signature will not print. If there is no graphic letterhead the signature
prints fine. This was not a problem with the previous version of DPSpool.

The good news is my new report to add text fields on top of a 6 page government
form (.jpg) works great.

Robert,

Yes. Just make sure you're using the latest version of DPSpool from here:

Also make sure your image is in bmp, rle, gif, or jpg format.

I do something similar with a bank deposit slip. I include a scanned graphic of
the deposit slip and then use cursor positioning to populate it with text. Took
some fiddling to get everything where it needed to be but once that was done it
really works well.
