DESCRIPTION: This project is mainly focused on upgrading the EDI capabilities with minimum interruptions to business operations. It will involve following parts: Implement new product and new architecture the corporation has procured the web-Methods solution. A new architecture will be designed and implemented that will include: Create a flexible webMethods solution that does not limit us to use any/all the licensed components: Moving all the Trading partners from GENTRAN to webMethods 7.1: Create maps to perform data translation from the EDI format to Oracle standard. There will be few modification/enhancement to the data received by Oracle. These modifications will be discussed in the design phase with the appropriate functional resources and agreed upon: Reduce the number of mappings in the system by reusing the same maps for different customers; Create audit reports; Create audit/alert emails for the EDI team and System Administration team; Training will be provided to the functional resources about the tool's capabilities to understand the available functionality. Future Enhancements - Create self service tools for common requests; Create business process to reduce time delays and manual intervention; Build robust exception handling routines within mappings and business process, Evaluate Oracle adapters with Oracle ERP.
