Job Title : DB2 DBA Consultant
Location : Raleigh, NC.
Duration : 6-12 months Contract
Rate : Open
Responsibilities:
Database Developer will work with other disciplines (Program Management,
Test Team, Technical Operations, other Software Development Engineers, and
various business owners) in implementation of analytical and technical
solutions
Review project plans, development and test specifications; communicating
implementation limitations; and data-driven solutions with all levels of
project team and management
Installation, upgrades, configuration, design, and troubleshoot DB2
service/products
Performing logical and physical data modeling as well as assessing business
rules
Database tuning for optimal performance
Analytics, research and calculation of data, and creation of tables
Implementing physical database objects, managing data, building/extending
toolsets, document and maintain business rules and implementation specifics
within the data model
Database Administration including account set up, backups, replication, etc
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of professional database modeling, design, and
development
In-depth knowledge of SQL (skills will be tested)
Thorough experience with DB2, including configuration, troubleshooting, and
upgrades
Experience with scripting languages such as Perl/Python
Database modeling/design tool
Experience working with querying tools
Ability to work independently and complete task on time
Knowledge of Java at enterprise level
Strong knowledge of Linux and DB2 on Linux
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred.
Excellent communication skills
