Job Title : Siebel QA Tester
Location : Reston, VA
Duration : 6-12 months
Rate : Opena
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate business requirement and technical specification documents in
order to craft test strategies and LOE assessments which would account for,
durations, constraints, assumptions, etc. that are needed in order to
fulfill test objectives.
• Review and validate design specifications so as to ensure requirements
traceability and to determine application/component functional readiness
requirements.
• Create and maintain test plans that define test objectives, methods and
tools to be employed for the assigned project
• Create or contribute to the definition of detailed project schedules,
conveying clearly defined milestones for test preparation, execution, and
compliance reporting activities and deliverables. Execute assigned tasks in
harmony with the test schedule.
• Lead and/or participate in the creation, distribution, and walkthrough of
software test cases, scripts and other documents surrounding testing
activities and ensure that all testing activities and deliverables are
conducted/produced in compliance with company standards. To include:
o Organization, coordination and participation in test plan/case reviews
o Design and preparation of test data
o Progress reporting against assigned tasks
o Raising, recording and retesting defects
• Influence the use of automation tools to manage problems, develop test
cases, execute regression and load testing, and facilitate the creation of
supporting documents
Qualifications:
•BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or 6+ years of hands on
experience as a software tester.
•Solid understanding of and practical experience with systems development
methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile), as well as a strong understanding of
configuration and release management concepts
•Strong organizational skills, conveying keen attention to detail and follow
through; excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to
interface with multiple levels of management on both technology and business
related issues
•Proficiency Quality Center/Test Director for writing test cases, test
execution and defect tracking
•Proficiency with automation tools such as Quick Test Professional and/or
LoadRunner – at least 2 years
•Strong RDBMS knowledge (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL) and practical
experience testing on Windows platforms.
•High level understanding of performance test tools such as WinRunner, QTP,
Rational Robot, Load Runner, etc
•Strong conceptual knowledge of web application technologies including
COM/COM+, IIS, ASP, XML, J2EE, DHTML, Web/Application Servers, JavaScript,
and VBScript
•Strong, hands-on knowledge/experience with office automation tools such as
MS Project, MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Word
REQUIRED:
•Proficiency in Siebel v7.0/v7.5 testing – 3 to 5 years
Preferred Skills:
•Mercury Interactive Business Process Testing (BPT)
