*POSITION SUMMARY
*The person in this role must be comfortable deriving design from detailed
functional requirements, building efficient solutions to difficult problems,
and mentoring junior engineers along the way.  In this role, you must be
able to work with multiple projects with varying timeframes while working
with a diverse group of teams (such as Production, Creative, Marketing,
Engineering, QA and System Engineering).   Expertise in object-oriented
programming and various web technologies is a must for this position.
Critical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills are
critical to success in this role.

*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES *

·         Lead technical design, development, testing and implementation of
software solutions to support  DOS websites while ensuring optimal web
performance, scalability, availability and maintainability

·         Develop and publish technical specs based on functional/business
requirements

·         Provide development support as needed

·         Identify problems/opportunities and champion solutions

·         Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers
and other team members.

·         Develop/maintain appropriate technical documentation (ie. release
notes, etc)

·         Be able to work extended days or weekends as needed

·         Become the primary web technical point-of-contact for the product
team

*QUALIFICATIONS* *FOR POSITION*

·         7+ years of software experience architecting, designing and
building large, high-performance & high-availability global websites

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Engineering, or equivalent experience

·         Demonstrated capacity to work with multiple software development
life cycle methodologies including Scrum

·         Ability to produce technical design deliverables and review this
with various teams prior to development

·         Ability to develop and implement high-quality code in a timely
manner is essential

·         Effective verbal and written communication skills with both
technical and non-technical audiences

·         Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative and fast paced
environment

·         Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong problem-solving and
analytical skills

·         Attention to detail

*SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED *

·         Extensive knowledge in object-oriented programming skills and
design principles

·         Extensive programming experience in Java and ActionScript 3.0

·         Extensive experience with scripting technologies (JSP, PHP, etc.)

·         Extensive experience with SQL and Relational Databases like SQL
Server / MySQL

·         Experience in web servers (IIS, Apache) and application servers
(e.g. Tomcat)

·         Experience with source control systems (e.g., Perforce, CVS)

·         Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS)

·         Excellent working knowledge of web technologies including (X)HTML,
CSS, JavaScript
