Tonight on a special Dateline Tuesday:

Dateline explores "Hidden Dangers", part of a week-long NBC News special series.
They're the everyday hazards all around us, that could harm you or your family.
Tonight Dateline takes you on the road, across some of the meanest streets in America
-- dangerous highways that are proven killers.

It's the latest in a Dateline Investigation that started five years ago, and according
to producer Lynn Boswell, there are still thousands of terrifying sections where you
can drive straight into trouble.

"Correspondent Chris Hansen was doing interviews on the sides of some of these roads
-- and he told me it made him extremely nervous... the lanes were narrow and often
hilly, many drivers were going over the speed limit and coming very, very close."

So what's being done to tame this asphalt jungle and keep you out of harm's way?
You'll see tonight just what has --and has NOT -- improved over the years. You'll also
have a chance to explore what producer Boswell says is an incredible amount of
information now available to the public about the status of our highways. There are
databases that will give you the latest and help you avoid roads that haven't yet been
repaired. After the show, you can access this material through Dateline's Web site at
http://www.dateline.msnbc.com and log on to an interactive map that lists the number
fatal accidents that have occurred on roads near your hometown.

Also on Dateline Tuesday: Spring Break. It's almost a rite of passage for college kids
-- a week of fun under the sun. But when Dateline took its hidden cameras to a popular
tropical paradise, that's NOT what we found. There were others taking part in the
heavy partying -- high school kids, out of control, deep in trouble, dangerously
drunk. It makes them easy prey for aggressive boys and older men. It's more than they
bargained for. And it happens all the time. Is this any place for YOUR young teen?

Join us tonight, for Dangerous Roads and Spring Break, at 10pEDT/9pCDT on a special
Dateline Tuesday.
