I'd like to put together a Perl date/time/calendar faq. This probably a misuse
of the term FAQ, since I have no idea what Qs are actually FA, but it seems
like a reasonable thing to call it. Things that I want to put in it range from
"how do I get a date" to "how do I figure out when Good Friday is going to be
next year"

There is already a *very* good date/calendar FAQ.
http://www.tondering.dk/claus/calendar.html I don't presume to replace that,
merely talk about the implementations of things specifically in Perl. The
excellent book Calendrical Calculations talks about date implementations in
Lisp, C, and various other languages. (At least, I've heard it's excellent.
Since it's currently out of print, I'm having trouble actually getting a copy.)

Since I'm a little short on tuits, and since my daughter is stubbornly refusing
to take a nap, I thought I'd ask you fine people if you'd like to share in the
work of such a project. I'd like to put it in CVS and give access to folks that
have something to contribute. I registered a SourceForge project a while back
called perl-date-time (http://sourceforge.net/projects/perl-date-time/) which
has nothing in it but good intentions. I'd propose that we put this FAQ in CVS
there. I'd also propose that we write it in LaTeX, for all the usual reasons
given for writing something in LaTeX, or in POD, for all the usual reasons for
using POD. My preference is LaTeX, due to the greater control it gives us over
sectioning, renumbering sections, and that sort of thing.

Once again, your comments are requested.
