Hi, I'm trying to install version 0.22 of this module.
First small issue ... when I run perl Makefile.PL
% perl Makefile.PL
Testing if you have a C compiler
make: *** No rule to make target `testub'. Stop.
I cannot determine if you have a C compiler
so I will install a perl-only implementation
You can force installation of the XS version with
perl Makefile.PL --xs
Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
Warning: prerequisite DateTime::Locale 0.09 not found.
Warning: prerequisite Pod::Man 1.14 not found.
Warning: I could not locate your pod2man program. Please make sure,
your pod2man program is in your PATH before you execute 'make'
Writing Makefile for DateTime
So why can't it find gcc & pod2man?
% which gcc
/usr/bin/gcc
% which pod2man
/usr/bin/pod2man
(I just installed the latest version of pod2man)
Now here is where it gets ugly.
% make
Makefile:98: *** missing separator. Stop.
So I look at the makefile, and find alot of what look to be incomplete
lines, unmatched quotes, etc. Makefile is listed below.
Any ideas what the problem is? I've tried this on a RedHat 9 box and a
RedHat Enterprise Edition box, both manually, and with CPAN. Same results
every time.
Thanks
Eric
