This looks like a handy module, but I'd think the namespace should be Sort::Key::DateTime, so that there could be a family of Sort::Key::XXX modules for various data types.
On a side note, I don't really like the namespace Sort::Key itself, since it's not clear what that means. I'd think something like Sort::Datatype or Sort::Custom or something like that might be a little clearer. This is something that's probably best discussed on the module authors list (module-authors@perl.org)
