Remember to stop XMail when You run MkUsers that build directly inside
$MAIL_ROOT.

Max is 128 that should be sufficent even for high loads.

The send rate when dealing with internet is limited not only by the speed of
Your server but mostly on the network bandwidth that drive You to the
SMTP servers You've to reach.
Using SmartDNSHost could help to speed up MX resolution anyway.

I don't think it's a good idea, but You can use one XMail server that use the
random feature of smtpfwd.tab to split the traffic through more "sending" XMail
servers.
In this way the server where the mail is created will send out it's load very
quickly due ethernet bandwidth while the cluster of sending servers will
provide a scalable rate that You could adjust simply by adding new servers and
editing the smtpfwd.tab of the main XMail server.

Not now, but let me think about.
