If you're using CtrlClnt on Unix you've to give the command line '*'
Tools that are not invoked through the command line are obviously not
affected by this.
I suppose you stopped XMail when you added the alias and if yes, i suppose
that to lookup [EMAIL PROTECTED] you've to add :

"*"    "postmaster"    "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"<cr><lf>

and not :

"*"    "hostmaster"    "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"<cr><lf>
