Because there's no need of having XML inside conf files. The code that
read TAB files is probably 1-2Kb and i like it. It's small and fast.
It's not just a case that all serious/working mail servers uses text files
for configuration ( XMail/qmail/sendmail/exim/postfix/... ). No need to
have server to sweat to parse conf files.
