Ok, if you have a multihomed workstation with internal and external IPs
XMail ( or better the OS ) will use internal ones when talking to internal
IPs and external ones when talking to external. This in 99% of normal
configurations. You can force local IP masquerading using
netfilter/ipchains but i can't see valid reasons to do this. Which IP from
the internal/external IP set is choosen depends on the routing table. If
multiple IP have the same "cost", it'll be up to the OS to pickup one.
XMail does not have explicit local IP binding because :

1) of request out of thousands does not justify the feature

2) it's very very easy to screw up things by forcing explicit binding

And 2) means for me a _lot_ of emails from people trying to do things that
they do not understand. Murphy is pretty clear about it: Give someone a
thing that he can screw up, and he will.
