my suggestion is :

1) edit sendmail.sh to ( if your MAIL_ROOT is different, edit the file ) :

#!/bin/sh


if [ -z $MAIL_ROOT ]; then
        export MAIL_ROOT=/var/MailRoot
fi


/usr/bin/sendmail.xmail $*

----------------------------------------------------

2) copy :

# mv /usr/sbin/sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail.orig
# cp sendmail.sh /usr/sbin/sendmail
# cp sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail.xmail
# chmod +s /usr/sbin/sendmail.xmail
