The basic rules should be :

1) if you do not understand it, do not touch it

2) if it is not heavily documented, you probably do not need to change it

That said, both 3 and 10000 are very bad values for different reasons. By
setting 10000, you'll have 5 * 10000^2 entries inside your fs, and this is
usually not good. Again, if you do not experience more than 100000
messages _inside_ your queue, leave it as is.
