Hello - I see that a few people (including myself) have run into this problem, and the answer is buried in the various threads. So, I thought I'd put something in a message title that people can easily find.
None of the demos included with the DVEVM v1.10 software will work, unless you set switch SW3-4 on your EVM board to "on". If you leave it "off", the demos will 'hang'. According to the DVEVM docs, this switch controls whether the ARM boots the DSP or the DSP 'self boots'. Setting this switch to "1" says that the DSP should 'self boot'. The new requirement for this switch to be set to "on" is because of a change in how the DSP/BIOS Link (ARM<->DSP transport layer beneath the codec engine) works. The DVEVM v1.00 software didn't have this requirement - DVEVM v1.10 does. I hope this message helps others. - Paul _______________________________________________ Davinci-linux-open-source mailing list [email protected] http://linux.davincidsp.com/mailman/listinfo/davinci-linux-open-source
