Hi Heath, For production you might use the UART boot mode to load a small (say 10 kB) boot loader. That boot loader could be a very stripped U-boot that uses TFTP (fixed IP, fixed MAC etc) to pull-in the image through Ethernet, then flash it into NOR or NAND. You will of course need to change the boot mode during factory programming using a jumper or I/O signal.
Loading 10 kB through the 115 kbaud serial link takes 1 second, the rest of the communication is 100 Mbps. No JTAG needed.
