It's been quite a while for me but here it goes...
If I recall correctly the "standard" kernel gave me a hard time (not
recognizing the keyboard etc.) but with the MontaVista kernel from git
(I believe it was version 2.6.18 I used) it all worked well with a
standard Dell USB keyboard.
I you're using the MontaVista newer kernel from git and still have
problems I can try to dig it up tomorrow when I'm back at my work.
