You can change this in the kernel. Assuming you have the patched 2.6.10
like me, you need to edit the initialisation of structure
nand_partitions in file arch/arm/mach-davinci/board-evm.c
Rebuild your kernel to see your changes. You can type
cat /proc/mtd
to see what partitions you have.
