Ashok,
There seems to be some issue with the power distribution on your
board.
Better to check with the hardware folks on this one. The power given by
the PC may not be sufficient to operate the onboard HDD and hence your
failure message from IDE when the external power is turned off.

But i am able to boot the board using external power supply.but i cannot
test anything on this.
so any pointers on this would be helpful
