Yan Ming,

Codec Engine is a codec execution framework that automates the
invocation and instantiation of eXpressDSP-compliant codecs and
algorithms. TI Codec Engine is provided as part of the TMS320DM644x
Digital Video Evaluation Module (DVEVM). Codec engine can execute in
ARM-only, ARM-DSP, or DSP-only environment Codec Engine uses DSP/BIOS
Link for providing the framework in an ARM-DSP environment.

DSP/BIOS Link is freely downloadable from
https://www-a.ti.com/downloads/sds_support/targetcontent/link/index.html
.

DSP/BIOS Link is not available for DM355 platform. As there is no DSP,
DSP/BIOS Link will not be useful here. I believe there is a DVEVM for
DM355 at http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tmdxevm355.html
which you can evaluate for your development.

Regards,

Deepali

Subject: What is the relationship between Codec Engine and DSPLink

Hi,

What's the relationship between between Codec Engine and DSPLink?
Which one can be downloaded freely from TI's website, and which one must
buy DVEM in order to get it? I am interested in development for DM355.
Because no DSP in the DM355, do I still need DSPLink?

Thanks & Regards,

Yan Ming
