I guess I'm not following you.

From the T.I. documentation:

‘00’ indicates ARM boots from ROM (NAND Flash).
‘01’ indicates that ARM boots from EMIFA (NOR Flash).

SD is neither one of these.

IF and only IF U-Boot is stored in NAND or NOR could you boot (using a 
modified version of U-Boot) off of SD. If you have U-Boot in NAND or NOR, 
then you don't need it on the SD.

Otherwise, the rest sounds good to go.
