Subject: Engine Open() from multiple DLL/SO libraries same process

I am moving all the Codec Engine XDC Tools makefile & configuration files into
a shared library. This will help reduce build complexity in my system.

I have a DSP server image with multiple XDM codecs. I would prefer separate
shared libraries for each codec. This seems the most natural. Is this
possible?

Reading the mail archive I found a message from Chris Ring:

RE: Can Open more than one codec engine at application?

Unrelated, a constraint on the current Codec Engine product is that multiple
_applications_ (or processes) are _not_ supported. Multiple threads within the
same process are supported, but not multiple processes.

Is this still current for Codec Engine 2.0? I assume I would still be
restricted to a single process as mentioned above.
