Hi

AFAIK 'mkimage' is a general utility that adds a header to a zImage file so
u-boot then 'understands' what to do with the file.

On my box the 'mkimage' comes from the installed MontaVista 'Pro'...

[EMAIL PROTECTED] did_update]$ which mkimage
/opt/mv_pro_4.0.1/montavista/pro/bin/mkimage

One question regarding mkimage, want to confirm, the mkimage will come from the
u-boot tools in the PSP folder. i.e. We need to build it to generate the
mkimage by issuing a build for uboot and then issue a build for the kernel. Am
I right? Also is mkimage a general utility that I can reuse if I already have
one or is there a dependency with the same?

        Hi,

Please check whether path for "mkimage" is setup correctly in your
build environment.
Else, you must be getting an error while building uImage.

        Hi ,
        all,

TI has put up the NEW 1.4 version package . I downloaded all the
packages. I followed the the instructions given in the getting started guide.

But I am getting two folders in
"/DVEDM-1.2/DVEVM_1.3_V/mv_pro_4.0.1/montavista/pro/devkit/lsp"
        that is:
                 1: ti-davinci_evm-arm_v5t_le
                 2: ti-davinci

As per Getting Started Guide sprue66d , I should have got the uImage in
         the location:
"/DVEDM-1.2/DVEVM_1.3_V/mv_pro_4.0.1/montavista/pro/devkit/lsp/ti-davinci/linux-2.6.10_mvl401/arch/arm/boot

But I am not finding the "linux-2.6.10_mvl401" folder in "ti-davinci"
folder.
Rather I am finding it in the "ti-davinci_evm-arm_v5t_le". When I am
going to "ti-davinci_evm-arm_v5t_le/linux-2.6.10_mvl401/arch/arm/boot" location
I am only finding "zImage" and "Image". I am unable to find the "uImage".

I have downloaded all the packages. So there is no chance of version
mismatching.

But one thing I want to mention, that v1.3 has LSP package size 97MB.
But this time v1.4 has LSP package size only 73MB as given in the update
website.

Can you tell me why those above problems are happening.
        Any solutions ?

        Thanks in Advance,
        MANAS KUMAR
