AVI file is a container file that embeds encoded video and audio stream.
The encoded format of video and audio stream is not fixed and it can be
different for example: video can be encoded as MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264,
VC1, etc and audio can be encoded as MP3, AAC, etc. What was tested was
AVI file which had MPEG4 SP video contents + MP3 audio contents.

I will suggest looking at Codec Engine documents for more details under
your DVSDK directory. Specifically, on gdecoder plugin, it can support
elementary video stream of all those different files however AVI file
was not tested with H.264 contents or VC1 contents. There is a newer
version of Gstreamer release that has been tested for H.264 contents in
AVI file and can be downloaded from

Subject: query in gstreamer document..

Hi All,
I have few queries in attached document "spraaq9".
Document is about Building GStreamer.

In section 3 Build Instructions, I have query for point number 5.

For your reference line is:

AVI file support has been tested with the video stream as MPEG4 SP
compliant and audio stream as MP3 compliant.

What does this mean and how to above experiment.

Another one is in section 2.2 GStreamer Plug-In Libraries

TI: gdecoder (Video Decoder)

This is a TI-developed plug-inavailable as source code to decode
elementary video streams using the

Codec Engine software foundationavailable on DaVinci devices. This
software foundation allows for

remote procedure calls to DSP todecode the video streams. The video
decoder plug-in can support elementaryvideo stream of VC1/WMV9, H.264
MP, MPEG4 SP, and MPEG2 [EMAIL PROTECTED] decoding.

Thanking you all in advance.

Regards,
Jitendra
