Hi,
The 'portmap' is the DM355 end. It is complaining about the NFS server timing
out. This is because of...
1/ The server NFS service is not running. Query with 'service nfs status'
('/etc/init.d/nfs status' for non Redhat/Fedora/CentOS).
2/ The server is blocking NFS via firewall/SELinux settings. Check server
firewall with 'ipchains -L' not sure about SELinux as it gets disabled at
install time on my boxes, (/etc/sysconfig/selinux has the line SELINUX=disabled
which I guess turns it off).
3/ Check the bootargs are correct in terms of 'nfsroot' and also that the
gateway settings are valid if the NFS server is not on the same subnet.
Check /var/log/messages for logging from nfsd each time you attempt to boot the
DM355. If you get nothing and yet nfsd is running then it suggests the firewall
is blocking the connection
Try mounting the NFS share from another linux box....

Subject: Portmap not responding
Hi All,
I am working on DM355 Evm board. While booting the file system via NFS I
am getting an error message as
portmap: server 157.87.142.172 not responding, timed out
Root-NFS: Unable to get nfsd port number from server, using default
How can I know, my portmap is running or not.
Please suggest some solution to boot EVM board via NFS.
Regards,
Nadeem
