Hi,

When you install mvl_4_0_1_demo_lsp_setuplinux_01_20_00_014.bin into say
/opt/dm355 you get a file
DaVinciLSP-01_20_00_014.tar.gz in /opt/dm355/mv_pro_4.0.1. You need to unpack
this file (in this directory) & it will unpack the kernel into
montavista/pro/devkit/lsp/ti-davinci (there is no linux-2.6.10_mvl401
directory).

The '/bin/sh: gcc: command not found' is because your build machine does not
have the native compiler installed - kernel building requires the host compiler
(to build the menus & IIRC dependancies) as well as the cross compiler for
target code generation.

Subject: dm355: Problem building new kernel.

Hi,

I have the dm355 EVM with all the updated software downloaded from TI. I have
gone through the new getting started guide up to section 4.5, I have run a
simple 'hello world' program on the dm355. When I get to 4.5 I copy ti-davinci
into my workdir/lsp and I see there is supposed to be a directory
ti-davinci/linux-2.6.10_mvl401, but this directory is not there. Also when I go
ahead and try to compile using the command in the getting started guide I get
/bin/sh: gcc: command not found. I have the Rules.make file setup the way the
guide says also.
