We have developed an XDM video analytics codec for the DM6446 and we want to protect our codec so that it can only be used when appropriately licensed. Does anybody have any experience in this field? Any app notes or such like? My main concern is that the DSP codec will have to find out some data about the system (e.g. MAC address, processor serial no (is there one?), system time, etc), but as far as I can tell, the DSP side is not allowed to directly access a lot of the peripherals on the DM6446 - this job is normally up to the ARM. Obviously having the ARM do the licensing is not secure, so it has to be done on the DSP side. Any ideas? Thanks! Ben
