Hi,

If you get desparate, you can always start the kernel with 'init=/bin/sh' that
guarantees a shell prompt.

Did you try username: root? You shouldn't need any password.

Cheers,

Subject: No access after login prompt on DVEVM

Hi,

My target (TI DVEVM) is not coming up to linux shell. It just boots up with
login prompt and it doesnt accept any username/pass too.

I following following steps:
1. build a toolchain with 'buildroot'
2. comipled a TI davinci kernel with minimal configurations
3. setup a .ext2 filesystem
4. using TFTP I transferred both uImage and rootfs on the target
5. bootm 0x80700000
After above steps Linux starts booting up on target and it shows login prompt.
In case I try to give username
and pass it doesnt accept at all.

I analyzed my rootfs' inittab but it seems OK.

Please suggest what could be wrong here,

Thanks in advance,
Polk
