Good luck with that stuff. I may be learning more than I care to about
MTD and NAND ECC soon as I need to try and work out how to update the
kernel image and u-boot environment from linux (for firmware updates).

For now I have an out-of-the-box EVM yaffs2 (2005 vintage) with 10M
rootfs in a 64M partition, it mounts in 1.6s which will do for now.
