Subject: Problem on creating YAFFS file system for NAND

Hi all,

I have some problems on creating YAFFS file system for NAND flash. My board is
Davinci DM6446. There is 64MB NAND flash on the board and I've created 3
partitions there. I'm planning mount partition 'mtdblock2' automatically at
boot up as a root file system. So, I used mkyaffsimage to create yaffs file
system from mounted nfs file system. Indeed I got the image file but this file
is too big. I need more compact image. 'wiki.davincidsp.com' describes some
ways how to get file systems, and there mentioned that to create yaffs file
system one can use 'ramdisk.gz' file. But in my host I couldn't find file
'ramdisk.gz', nowhere. I've installed DVSDK DVEVM_1_10. Kernel is
linux-2.6.10_mvl401. Where can I get 'ramdisk.gz' or how can I create compact
yaffs file system (about 16MB)?

Thanks,

Sabyrbek
