James,

I don't believe you want to specify the XDS560 emulator, as this
selects the PCI card based XDS560 and not the Spectrum Digital driver.

Subject: Spectrum Digital JTAG won't connect - BlackHawk works fine

I'm working with a DaVinci DM6446 DVEVM. I've tried to hook up a Spectrum
Digital JTAG emulator, but was never able to get the PC to talk to the
emulator. (As opposed to "talking to the target".)

Details:
XDS560R emulator USB II JTAG Emulator
Code Composer Version 3.3.38.2 disk loaded onto Windows NT
Boot Switches on the EVM set to prevent uBoot from running,
according to user guide.
I have a CD (supplied with Emulator) that provided drivers,
version 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0
When none of these drivers worked, I downloaded driver version
3.3 off the web.

I used the Code Composer selection DM6446 XDS560 Emulator with ICEPICK_C.

I then uninstalled everything, then reloaded Code Composer and switched to a
Blackhawk USB XDS560M JTAG, and installed the drivers supplied with the
Blackhawk. This worked first time.

Does anyone have any suggestions why the Spectrum Digital did not connect?
Thanks,

James Long
