How about writing directly to the file
/sys/class/davinci_display/ch0/brightness.
The SPRUEL6.pdf has similar examples but only for "mode" and "output".
I think this should be extendable to brightness too - though the LSP
SPRUel6.pdf does not say anything about brightness.
