The last version of CCS that I used (3.2) didn't have the capability
of debugging ARM side code outside the Linux kernel, since CCS is not
aware of the process memory mapping. Not sure if newer versions has
the capability.
We use lauterbach for ARM side debugging, since it has Linux-awareness
layer that allows to debug process, libraries, kernel and modules. It
works great on Cortex-A8 cores for us, and I have read that is capable
(but never used, nor sure if it works on OMAP) to debug TI DSPs. Even
if is capable I'm not sure what would be the JTAG scan chain
configuration required.
