Hi,

I also came across the same situation at the start.
Only the 1.5MB image from /lsp/ti-davinci is working fine.

The other image from lsp/ti-davinci_evm-arm_v5t_le is not working fine
and does not boot.

And there is of course a lot of place in the document where
ti-davinci_evm-arm_v5t_le is mentioned instead of ti-davinci
Well however, I donno why the EVM comes with 2 such tress!

Best Regards,
Deepak Shankar V

Hi,

Best guess.....somebody has installed 2 versions of the kernel source.

Your best option - talk to whoever it was that did it. If that is you
then you are becoming forgetful ;-)

p.s it is normally considered 'bad form' to build the kernel under
/opt/mv_pro....., you should really take a working copy, the files under
/opt/mv_pro should be considered to be 'pristine source'.

Subject: Building a New Linux Kernel

hi all

I following the TMS320DM6446 DVEVM v1.30 Getting Started Guide
(sprue66d.pdf) to Building a New Linux Kernel.

But I have two path can to build:
1. /opt/mv_pro_4.0.1/montavista/pro/devkit/lsp/ti-davinci
2.
/opt/mv_pro_4.0.1/montavista/pro/devkit/lsp/ti-davinci_evm-arm_v5t_le/li
nux-2.6.10_mvl401

So I build both and get two kernel (uImage):
1. uname -a 2.6.10_mvl401-davinci (1538556 Byte)
2. uname -a 2.6.10_mvl401-davinci_evm (1334816 Byte)

What are the different types of uImage?

Do you have any idea?

Thanks.
