Hi, Looking at the path 'drivers/net/XC/...' , please tell me that you are not trying to build userspace code in the kernel? If you are then that would explain the lack of 'stdio.h' as this has no place in kernel land. You could try 'hello world' - that needs stdio.h and the arm compiler should build it with a simple.. arm_v5t_le-gcc -o hello hello.c ....if it does not then your tool chain is broken. As for your definitions, AFAIK the NEAR and FAR stuff is a hangover from DOS and has not been something a Unix/Linux system has ever cared about. In this project there is file containing definitions like: #define NEAR #define FAR #define CONST #define HWACC #define LARGE #define GENERIC #define MEM #define REENTRANT Since I'm not confident with the Montavista "arm_v5t_le-" compiler toolchain, I don't really know, which values to assign to these options. There is one more thing, the compiler wont find the header file "stdio.h" after including it. Nonetheless the project compile well for the X86 architecture without errors. The error message is as follows: from drivers/net/XC/demo_main.c:90: drivers/net/XC/Include/global.h:592:78: stdio.h: No such file or directory from drivers/net/XC/demo_main.c:90: drivers/net/XC/Include/Target.h:138:24: stdlib.h: No such file or directory drivers/net/XC/demo_main.c:147:1: warning: "MODE_MASK" redefined In file included from include/asm/irqflags.h:6, from include/linux/irqflags.h:46, from include/asm/system.h:214, from include/asm/bitops.h:23, from include/linux/bitops.h:9, from drivers/net/XC/demo_main.c:74: include/asm/ptrace.h:48:1: warning: this is the location of the previous definition make[3]: *** [drivers/net/XC/demo_main.o] Error 1 make[2]: *** [drivers/net/XC] Error 2 make[1]: *** [drivers/net] Error 2 make: *** [drivers] Error 2 Any help will be appreciated.
