My guess is you'll be fine here, other than getting your scrolling text
to be completely smooth.
3) Have you tried to send 1024x768 OSD data 8 times a seconds (which
would be below the 25 MBytes/sec). Is there any tearing?
I haven't done any tests in full-screen. You can do this by writing
full-screen single-color data. Just rotate the color components and the
tearing will be quite noticeable when the hardware is unable to keep up.
