Swami,
Could you provide the kernel driver version you are using, because it seems that with GIT 2.6.26, this feature has not been implemented yet ? I repeat that the problem occurs when the WIFI is streaming a media by example and in the mean while we attempt to read or write data on the USB stick. Best regards. Stéphane. There are no hardware limitations as I know of that limits the above use case scenario. Digging the WIFI code and the USB host code, I figured out that using both WIFI connection and MSC operation causes some troubles against the scheduling of the packets. Obviously with Bulk device and specifically Network USB device, the USB host stack can get stucked into the wait of answer from the host device . Indeed it seems that the USB host driver in DMA mode is not designed actually to support this kind of schedule. Can you first confirm this ? In a second time do you know if TI's team has planned to support this kind of behaviour? And at last do you know if there is some hardware limitations? Thank you very much for your answer. WiFi traffic will no way affect the MSC media traffic and I am surprised to see the low throughput numbers you are reporting. Let me set up the environment at my end and measure the performance on DM355 with MSC media. My use case is downloading a media on a USB mass storage device with a WIFI USB dongle on a hub. We have in this case very poor performance(less than 1MB) for the USB Mass storage device because the WIFI device sometimes takes time to answer(NAK USB message for a while). Is it previewed by TI that the USB stack should schedule the other devices if one is pending? Best regards. Is there anybody who experienced this kind of problem and can help me using WIFI dongle ? I'm using the July latest patch from TI integrated. Cheers.
