You can disable following option, while doing "make menuconfig" and try,
General

│ -> Configure standard kernel features (for small systems)
(EMBEDDED [=y])
-> [ ] Enable support for printk ( i.e
CONFIG_PRINTK is not set.)

Try adding
“quiet” to you u-boot bootargs variable. This will suppress the kernel
output messages and prevent messages from appearing on the console when
you plug-in a USB device.
