As reported on the wiki page, the tool failed under Ubuntu 8.04
(http://wiki.davincidsp.com/index.php?title=Serial_Boot_and_Flash_Loading_Utility#Known_Problems).
This test was done using a USB-serial adapter. We suspected it was related
to a driver issue since it was observed that the serial adapter driver was much
older on Ubuntu. The program worked fine on another test system running Fedora
7.

As the recommended OSes for the DVSDK remain SUSE and RHEL, I would recommend
trying one of those two if possible. That sounds a little lame, but limited
resources prevent us from trying every possible OS/mono version combo. You
could also try updating to the latest 2.0 mono release.

Daniel

No,

We have tested on several environments (distributions, virtual
machines, serial and usb-serial ports), and seems like the latest mono
serial console code is broken with serial flasher.
