One more thought. DM355 has for example INTMUX, choosing which peripheral's interrupt gets to be reported; and EVTMUX, choosing which peripheral gets a particular DMA channel. (ASP0 vs ASP1, for either RX or TX DMA, as one example.) Is there anything in this code, other than the "pin" in the names, which would prevent it from handling those kinds of muxing? At a quick glance, the answer seems to be "no"...
