I flash my dm6446 boards from Linux. I use Sergey's tools at [1] for
this purpose. They use kermit to transfer file to the board. I wrote
a standalone C program which is a wrapper around Sergey's code but
eliminates the kermit part.

There are also other tools at [2], but I have never tried them.

Also have you ever checked page [3] ? I remember you mentioning
patching your mono sources so probably you are aware of the
situation but at the end of page they say that tools are tested on
Ubuntu 8.04.
